How to Rent from Manzanita Rental Company
|
• Don't get too hung up with certain amenities...you may be missing a great experience in a hot-tubless home, for example. Make a list of the things you must have (like needed sleeping capacity, or pets allowed), then a list of nice-to-have but not critical. And remember, the town of Manzanita is wide and shallow — approximately seven blocks deep — so no matter where your rental is located, you're close to the beach and the main street businesses.
• Pay attention to the listed descriptions of the beds...whether the total sleep count includes bunks, doubles, hide-a-beds in couches, whatever. The bunks and doubles and hide-a-beds may be fine for the kids, but the adults...not so much.
• Don't forget to factor the security deposit and cleaning fee into your vacation budget. Then be sure and meet the conditions to get that deposit back--no damage, property missing, etc. Read the rental agreement (and polices) for all the stipulations.
• Be sure to keep the contact number of the rental agent on you in case there is a problem.
• Double-check the arrival and departure dates on your contract.
• Pay attention to the specified limit of cars that can be parked on the property.
• Verify where the cleaning supplies are kept so you can keep up on things. We provide a thorough cleaning (fees posted for each property) after you've left.
• Do a walk through before you leave so as to assure there is no problem with condition of the property. Also, please verify that the windows and doors are closed and locked, ovens and cooking surfaces are off, coffee pots unplugged, furniture back in it's original location, stuff like that. This final walk-through is also the time when you'll find the things that would have been left behind...like shampoo in the shower or a novel in a window seat.
• Save money on meals by taking advantage of the home's kitchen to prepare meals instead of eating out every meal. Many of the homes have a great-room configuration to allow those preparing meals to stay involved with the rest of what's going on.
• For groups of friends and relatives, renting a vacation home is a great way to share expenses, have a gathering place in the family or great room to visit, save on meals costs by using the kitchen, and more. A good way to make it all work is to appoint someone as treasurer to book the reservation with us and collect from the rest of the group.
• As with most endeavors, planning ahead and being organized are the keys. And for best selection, find and book your vacation home early. Inventory during the peak seasons goes fast...begin your research and planning six months out. A year even.
